British Arrows is the name for the British Television Advertising Awards. Established in 1976, we recognise and reward the best television, online, outdoor and cinema commercials made by British advertising agencies and production companies.
Each year we hold two ceremonies. The British Arrows Awards take place in March, and celebrate the advertising agencies and production companies that create the most excellent commercials and campaigns. The Craft Awards, held in November, honour the individual craftsmanship behind the commercials.
Our Chairman of the Jury for this year’s Craft Awards is Davud Karbassioun, Head of Film at BBH.
“It’s an incredible honour to head up this year’s jury for the British Arrows Craft Awards. In the words of Sir John Hegarty “The best work is 80% idea, but it is also 80% execution.” Whilst Sir John is clearly a better creative than mathematician, I love this line as it recognises that craft isn’t a science – it’s an art – and it’s as integral in producing beautiful, famous and high performing work as the idea itself.
These important awards recognise the highly skilled group of specialists in our industry that combine to bring the magic in the making – the people that are the reason I fell in love with this industry. This year we have a record number of entries, and a jury of inspirational people, all of whom stand at the top of their field.”
