The Young Arrows are proud to announce the launch of their second awards show solely dedicated to recognising and rewarding emerging talent as well as three new jury chairs.
The jury chairs are Nikki Cramphorn and Sally Pritchett, Joint Heads of Integrated Production at adam&eveDDB, and James Sorton MD&EP at Pulse Films.
Continuing The British Arrows’ heritage of honouring the best in moving image commercial content creation, the Young Arrows shines a light across a variety of crafts and skill-sets.
Open to people beginning their career in advertising and with a specific award open to students, the Young Arrows offers a range of categories with a lower entry fee and more flexible eligibility criteria with the chance to win a coveted Arrow award.
At last year's inaugural show 15 rising stars were awarded and as well as that the Young Arrows also supported new talent in the curation of the awards by employing emerging crew to cover various aspects of the production of the event.
The Young Arrows winners will be decided by a jury selected by the new chairs and made up of a cross section of top industry talent.
James is passionate about his involvement in the Young Arrows and comments, “Young creatives provide a new lifeline to our industry, so it’s essential they are recognised, celebrated and given a platform that will help create further opportunities for them to achieve greatness. British Arrows are brilliant at shining the spotlight on the amazing people and innovative work that our business creates, so to be able to do that for emerging talent, is a very exciting prospect and something for us all to champion.’
Nikki and Sally go on to say, “ For us The Young Arrows embodies everything that is great & good about advertising. Supporting new & emerging talent & giving them something to aim for & above all, be rewarded for, is a real highlight. Who doesn’t love receiving an award!?
Our industry thrives on fresh ideas & how brilliant & unique that The YA are investing in this area. Anything that helps encourage & promote fresh, new ideas & ways of thinking is to be celebrated.
To be tasked with helping uncover the future stars of tomorrow, is not only really exciting, but a huge responsibility. How could we not want to be involved ?!
In terms of Jurors we will be looking for the holy trinity… a balance of experience, energy & a nurturing temperament.
The British Arrows have recently announced Academy’s Simon Cooper as their new Chair of the board of directors, he’s excited to be working with the new Young Arrows team and comments, “I’m delighted to have such stellar talent chairing our Juries for the second Young Arrows Awards. Sall, Nikki and James all come with such a depth of experience and understanding of what it takes to shine, of recognising emerging talent, that I know our juries will be in the best possible hands”
Several companies have already pledged their support of the Young Arrows, British Arrows Managing Director Lisa Lavender comments, “we are beyond thrilled to say that Academy, Coffee & TV, No.8, Object & Animal, Rogue and Sue Terry Voices are already signed up as sponsors. All before we had officially launched, it’s amazing to have such support and proof we are all supportive of shining a light on our industry’s stars of the future”.
